Oh my, we received even more responses from exhibitors at the #vintagebazaar. Part two (!) of two (!) … Holla!
Koko-Rokoko
on the web: http://koko-rokoko.blogspot.com
on the earth: 1112 N Ashland Chicago IL
Koko-Rokoko is a rad operation. 80s and 90s style vintage, tons of colors, fresh looks, fresh attitude. The store stocks some upcycled stuff too besides the vintage and what else they throw parties too! Sasha sent us a lil note to let us know what was up. And props to her for letting us know about this event in the first place, what seems like eons ago…
Team H: What are you so so excited about? Re: #vintagebazaar?
I am excited to see what the other vendors have–it should be quite a mix!
Team H: What are yall sellin?
We will be selling the usual mix of fresh 80s and 90s gear and good vibes from the fashion future, and we will have an awesome sale rack with 5 and 10 dollar items like sweaters and shirts, as well as more expensive jewelry and new old stock sunglasses.
Team H: Anything hard to part with but hey?
I really love every item we have here at the shop but there is a pair of over the knee suede pirate boots made by Kenneth Cole in the 80s. They are in perfect condition–I almost want to eat them
Nice
on the web:
With an etsy ID like ‘nice’ you know this outfit has some experience with vintage! Caitlin does the vintage thing and the handmade thing too, and manages to maintain a beautiful website and although we’ve yet to meet her we’re gonna assume all kinds of other awesome stuff too:
Team H – what you are most excited about come saturday?
Probably to be around so many other like-minded vintage lovers! I have great faith in the creators of this bazaar and I am certain it’s going to be a ton of fun and packed with good finds.
Team H – what items you are most excited to be sellin?
Everything, truly- otherwise it wouldn’t be in my inventory! It’s always so exciting when something goes off to a new loving home. This will be my first time selling vintage in person (rather than online), so it will be fun to talk with people and see what they favor.
Team H – what items you love so much you hate to part with it but hey you gotta do what you gotta do?
Probably everything, I just (force myself to) “get over” some items quicker than others. I do keep some pieces for a while, until I feel I’m ready to part with them..and in the end those items are always the most exciting to see go to a new home!

You may remember Backgarage.com’s writeup of this shop, if not go check it out. Great stuff. Kelly sent us over a pic of a tall globe she’ll be bringing.

Lisa B got back to us with an enticing sneak peek type pic and some kind words to boot…
Team H: “what you are most excited about come saturday?”
The people
Always fun to mix and mingle with other vintage aficionados.
Team H: “what items you are most excited to be sellin?”
A couple of old file cabinets we morphed into tables. I think they are very cool. I’m hoping to meet someone who has the perfect home for them!
Team H: “what items you love so much you hate to part with it but hey you gotta do what you gotta do?”
I sometimes develop an unhealthy attachment to vintage craft supply kinds of things…like wallpaper, fabric, buttons and buckles. I’m always thinking…”I could make something out of that.” There are not enough hours in the day to make everything I’ve hoarded supplies for!
Second Hand Squared
on the web: http://www.etsy.com/shop/SecondHandSquared
Robyn and Joe got back to us with some pics and deets…
Team H: What are you most excited about for the #vintagebazaar?
We are also very excited about Saturday, for numerous reasons. We’ve only just opened our etsy shop in January, so we’re excited to be introducing ourselves (and our stuff) to so many people at once, at such a great venue! If the Vintage Bazaar hadn’t been created, we may have had to wait until warmer weather, which, if we were going by last year’s weather, could mean June. O.o
Joe and I have been gathering inventory like maniacs (not that I’m complaining, the gathering is my favorite part). I know we’ll both be excited to be able to walk in our apartment again, and have some clear surfaces on which to, you know, occasionally put down our coffee cup or glass of water.
Team H: what items you love so much you hate to part with it but hey you gotta do what you gotta do?
I think we’re most excited to be selling those things of which we seem to have a plethora; lamps, barware (mostly ice buckets), old luggage, random pieces of china. Joe likes more traditional antique-y stuff, and I am a total sucker for mid-century modern anything. Some of the things with which I will hate to part are the industrial-type office stuff; metal card files and this really cool pair of icy-blue metal hinge-top boxes containing empty film reels in canisters, also blue. And a really old projector. And a pink ceramic bathroom suite made by a woman in the Chicago burbs (I’m assuming) named Pearl. An adorable but somewhat maimed cookie jar (I feel kind of like its foster parent, now).
But, like you said, you do what ya gotta do.
Joe will probably be sorry to see some books, suitcases and old board games go. But we are able generally resign ourselves to selling things about a week or two (okay, sometimes longer) after we obtain them, so the separation anxiety *should* be minimal. We’ll see, I guess!
YellowBirdd

Michelle from YellowBirdd sent us an update as well:
Team H: What’s new? How’s business?
I would love to promote that I am stepping away from etsy and starting my own vintage online shop which I am hoping to launch in early to mid March- www.yellowbirdd.com.
Team H: That’s cool. Your site design thus far on your dot com looks super clean. Selling on etsy vs. selling on one’s own site is def. a tricky decision (one that we are considering too)… What about this sale what are you excited about to sell at #vintagebazaar?
I have been building up a collection of purses that I can’t wait to display this Saturday. They are all really cool and unique from one another. I have leather handbags, carpet bag clutches, fabric totes and briefcase purses. I also have a few pairs of heels that I’m really excited about. Due to size restraints I have to sell them but I’m not happy about it!
Team H: What else?
I am fully aware and have come to terms that I will not be leaving the Bazaar empty handed…I can’t wait to shop at my fellow vendors booths!

Next up….. Karyn from Max & Chloe Vintage…
Team H: Howdy… What are you most excited about for this Saturday #vintagebazaar?
I am so excited for this weekend and am so glad to be a part of it! I think the most thing I am excited for this weekend is meeting other lovers of vintage and the vintage lifestyle. The cute people who aren’t afraid to express themselves through fashion. Nothing is better than putting together outfits and meeting people who can have so many different takes on how to rock vintage!
Team H: Tell us a few things about what you are selling?
The items I always get really excited to sell are vintage hats and separates. Again because of the styling differences that you can do with individual pieces.
Team H: what items you love so much you hate to part with it but hey you gotta do what you gotta do?
I love all my vintage dresses and shoes. And even though I love them, I know that I have too many already in my personal collection. So that’s when I have to decide what to add for myself and what to let other vintage gals enjoy! Come by my booth and say hi and try on some amazing vintage from the 1940’s through the 1980’s!! So much to choose from and so many different styles. The best part about vintage is, it can be anything you make it! And of course stop by my blog www.maxandchloevintage.blogspot.com and follow!
Brown Alice Thrift
on the web: http://www.etsy.com/shop/BrownAliceThrift
Brown Alice Thrift is quirky to the core! Know that! Here’s a bit more from Vaughn the proprietor:
I am so excited about selling my quirky vintage finds. I looooove dresses, so I will be selling very lovely frocks from the 70s and 80s: party dresses, wear-to-work dresses, even a wedding dress! I also have great designer ties that the fellas (and the ladies) will enjoy. I have something for everyone (plus sizes included). One of my favorite pieces is a resort blouse that has an amazing print, and the best part, it was made right here in Chicago! Shop Brown Alice Thrift if you’re looking for something unique and affordable. I’m also available to give tips on how to wear the vintage pieces and incorporate them into an everyday wardrobe. At Brown Alice Thrift we celebrate alternative fashion. We celebrate the bold brainiacs and bookish beauties. I look forward to meeting you all on Saturday. I’ll be there with bells on:)
Vintage Goodies

Last but not least Lisa from Vintage Goodies answered our questions…
Team H – what you are most excited about come saturday?
I’m super excited to see a couple of old friends, make some new, and check out all the awesome vintage that will be there. I can’t wait to see what everyone brings! I’m also super excited about merchandising my booth! I can’t wait to just set everything up and look at it in all its vintage glory!
Team H – what items you are most excited to be sellin?
I’ve got a serious thing for vintage housewares 40s-60s so there will be lots of that. Trays and canisters are also high on my list because they are so versatile for display, use, and storage. I’ll also be bringing some really sweet clothing, a few suitcases, and some fabric and textiles for customers to dig through!
Team H – what items you love so much you hate to part with it but hey you gotta do what you gotta do?
I think vintage fabric and textiles are the most painful to part with. I love it and have a huge collection I use for my other business, artgoodies. But sometimes it’s just not what I need and although I’d love to keep it I just can’t store it all. The other thing I love are the trays. I have a big collection myself but just don’t have any more room to display them so I have to move them along.

Can yall smell the enthusiasm yet? Between these two articles I would say this even on Saturday will be a real treat for the lover of vintage, from antiques to 80s!
Here’s the deets again. 4740 N Western, at the Dank Haus, 27th of February (saturday) 12pm-5pm. Free entry, adult beverages will b served as well as catered snackages. Come and hang out, should be a good time.
And thanks to all the sellers who got back to us to help hype this event! Thankx 2 Yelp Chicago and Mitsubishi and CHIRP Radio etc etc and stuff too! And of course the promoters backgarage.com and alexandersalvage.com!
xoxo
